“Yes, I am pestering you now” – Police Deliberately Interrupt Reporting During Protest
In the evening of 14th November, protesters were dispersed by police’s use of tear gas after setting up roadblocks at the Chai Wan roundabout on the Island Eastern Corridor. When filming on the footbridge, an i-Cable News reporter was approached by a police officer and was asked to show their press pass. The reporter then proceeded to showing their safety vest and logo on helmet worn, and stated that they were from i-Cable News. The reporter was then asked to remove their gas mask whilst retrieving press pass from backpack. The identifiable operational call sign shown on the police officer was “PTU A4 Pln Cdr”, as seen on the video clip.
