Student journalist reportedly shot with tear gas round and sustains third-degree burn

A student journalist of CityU was reportedly shot in the right arm by the Police with a tear gas round at point-blank range.

The journalist, whose surname is LAM, told the press that he was shot at around 10:41 pm, after which he lost balance and felt pain mixed with numbness and a burning sensation. The wound immediately became swollen.

Medical findings stated that Lam’s arm “sustained a third-degree burn”, with the wound perimeter being 1.5 inches.

Lam suspected that he was shot with a “large-calibre tear gas round fired at point-blank range”.
