Riot Police Threatening Civilians with Gangster Slang

At 11:20 p.m. on 7 October 2019, two squads of riot police enveloped the junction at Hung Hom Road and Tak Man Street and trespassed on the private premises of Whampoa Garden without a warrant or any report of criminal activity.

As shown in the live footage, an agitated riot police officer threatened the pedestrians, yelling, “You know I’m here to “fuk-cheuk” (a gangster slang meaning “to seek revenge”), don’t you?”

Local residents kept falling back while confronting the riot police, who raised the orange flag at 11:35 p.m. and pointed guns at the residence.  They pepper-sprayed civilians without warning outside Exit B of Whampoa MTR Station, and deserted the scene when people were recovering from their pepper spray attack.
