Riot police (PTU) enter Fortune Plaza Arcade in Tai Po without search warrant and point paintball gun at podium

On 8th March 2020, some citizens held a public forum and demonstration in Tai Po in the afternoon to oppose the government’s plan to use the Tai Po Jockey Club Clinic as a designated COVID-19 clinic.

At around 4:30pm, Police Tactical Unit (PTU) entered Fortune Plaza Arcade and subdued several people at Treasure Garden. Some citizens were dissatisfied with the entry of PTU into Fortune Plaza Arcade, therefore tried to debate with the security guard. Police officers pointed their paintball guns at the podium of Eightland Gardens and some citizens argued with the officers at the podium of Treasure Garden.
