Resident blacked out, head injured by batons, police tries to treat injury with a used mask
A group of Sai Kung residents rallied in the afternoon against setting up a quarantine facility in the district. Riot police were on the scene and entered Lakeside Garden to chase after the protesting residents when dispersing the crowd. A man was hit on the head by batons and knocked unconscious during the operation.
The officers were flustered and called for immediate help from first-aiders. They had tried to treat the bleeding wound with a mask that had been used by the patient before first aid volunteer arrived.
The man was sent to the hospital after 10 minutes. According to the volunteer, the man has awoken later although there were severe bleeding.
Cap. 212 Offences against the Person Ordinance No. 19:
Wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm
Any person who unlawfully and maliciously wounds or inflicts any grievous bodily harm upon any other person, either with or without any weapon or instrument, shall be guilty of an offence triable upon indictment, and shall be liable to imprisonment for 3 years.

Preservation of Scene of Crime
2. A police officer shall not delay the administering of medical aid or the conveyance of a victim to a hospital or clinic.
4.An ambulance crew shall not be told by Police to wait at the scene, e.g. to await the arrival of a Forensic Pathologist.
