Police hindering the press from covering the scene
At around 5p.m., a reporter from the Stand News was shooting the police front-line on the sidewalk of Nathan Road. A police officer dispersed the civilians with pepper spray projectile gun on sidewalk. The officer even forced the reporter to leave by pushing with hands and round shield. Some other police officers hindered the shooting with strong light.
A madam from the Police Public Relations Branch (PPRB) obstructed shooting by covering the camera, and covering the reporter’s mouth. Meanwhile, there were officers holding pepper spray projectile gun to threaten the press to leave, victims include a journalist from United Social Press. Police claimed that the press will be charged and arrested for obstructing government administration if they insist to stay.
