Police Threatens and Chases Away Reporters During Eviction, Obstructs Reporting

In the early morning on June 10th, police threatened and chased away reporters during eviction outside of the Legislative Council building in the Lung Wo Road area. Police insulted reporters by calling them “trash”, and yelled “reporter has no privilege”; the police proceeded to use strong flash to disrupt recording, and pushed reporters against mills barriers, attacked them and shuffled them, threatening reporters’ safety. Some reporters were searched even though they showed their press ID and were holding cameras, severely disrupted reporting.
