Police Shine High Intensity Flashlight at the Eyes of Civilian from a Metre

On the night of 21st March, 2020, officers from the Police Tactical Unit conducted a stop-and-search operation against dozens of civilians around Kin Yip Street Playground in Yuen Long. During the search of a female civilian, a police officer shouted at her, and shone a high intensity flashlight at her eyes from a distance of about a metre.

Laws of Hong Kong Cap. 212 Offences against the Person Ordinance, Section 40:

Common assault
Any person who is convicted of a common assault shall be guilty of an offence triable either summarily or upon indictment, and shall be liable to imprisonment for 1 year.
