Police officers knocks a district councilor against the wall, seemed to be falsely accused of theft

After the “Universal Siege on Communists Assembly”, there were a large number of police officers in Central. At least 50 civilians were surrounded and intercepted at Pedder Street, including voluntary first aiders, legislative councilor Hui Chi-fung and district councilor NG Siu Hong. During the interception, police officers prohibited first aiders from taking care of a sick arrestee who vomited, swore at district councilor, commanded Ng Siu Hong to unlock his mobile phone screen lock and stop filming. Ng Siu Hong contacted Police Public Relations Branch looking for an explanation, while the PPRB officer replied, ‘We can do nothing about the decision made by frontline officers.’

Ng recalled that he was pushed against the wall violently by police officers, and those officers sweared at him and ordered him to unlock his phone, they even claimed that the phone was stolen by Ng, and he would be arrested if he did not unlock his phone. At that time, Ng filmed with a camcorder, who was then threatened by officers that he would be arrested if he did not stop recording. Before Ng left, he asked for the police IDs of officers involved, and requested them to explain the reason behind these stop and searches. The officers present refused to explain and blamed Ng for breaking the peace in the society, and criticized him for not having any legal knowledge. An officer even said ‘Do not talk to him, he could not understand anyway’
