Police officers abused an arrested citizen by illegally using pepper spray can to bash his head, batons to assault the joints, pepper spraying at his face, beating his brains out. The citizen was then charged with assault on the police and robbery.

Netizens initiated “Shop with You in North District” at Landmark North in Sheung Shui on the 28th December 2019. Police arrested multiple people, in which a 16-year-old male student was charged with crimes including assault on the police and robbery, alleged of taking a police officer’s shotgun. He was committed to Fanling Magistrates’ Courts for trial on the 30th, no plea was to be taken. The trial was postponed to the 23rd March 2020, he would be remanded during the period. It is learnt that the defendant was alleged to have pulled the trigger three times during the gun grab,but failed to fire.

The male defendant was charged with assault on the police, resisting the police and robbery. The accusation is that on the 28th of this month, he assaulted a police officer, named Officer X, and resisted another officer, named Officer Y, on the footbridge outside Landmark North. The accusation also stated that he took a shotgun from Officer Y on the 2nd floor of Landmark North.

Footage of the incident shows that on that day, the 16-year-old male student was initially chased and beaten by the police using batons in the mall, he once held a shotgun in the tangle, while police officers bashed his left hand for multiple times and retrieved the shotgun afterwards.
