Police Insulting Immigrant for “Sucking up Welfare” and Calling Protesters “Skin-shredding Cockroaches”

Superintendent Leung Kwok-wing of New Territories South Regional Headquarters branded protesters as “cockroaches” when his team sealed off the footbridge to Tuen Mun Park, saying that the operation was to keep civilians in the neighbourhood away from cockroaches that were “shredding skin”.  The disgruntled crowd called him “a mouse” and “a brute” in rebuttal.  Two riot police officers reacted to the yelling crowd by shining flashlights at people’s eyes while one of them berated a lady who spoke with an accent, “How long have you been in HK, sucking up the welfare here?”
