Plaintiff became defendant after being assaulted by police supporter
There was a case of assault and unlawful imprisonment at the Lennon Wall in Mei Foo. At 10pm on 28 August at the Lennon Wall in Nassau Street, two men were arguing over noise issues. During the quarrel, the man (Fan, aged 53) assaulted the other man (Chow, aged 44) with a baseball bat, Fan was then subdued by Chow and citizens at the scene and his hands were tied up with slings. After that, a man surnamed Chow but aged 54 unleashed Fan’s hands and argued with others present, which started another clash between both sides. During the clash, Fan and the 54 years old man seemed to be attacking a male and a female, causing injuries to their eyes and faces. Police officers arrived after acknowledging the clash, then arrested Fan and both 54-year-old Chow and 44-year-old Chow after primary investigation for ‘Fighting in a public place’. Fan and Chow (54) were also charged for ‘Common assault’ while Chow (44) was added a charge of ‘Unlawful imprisonment’. The case was handed over to Sham Shui Po District 9th Investigation Team.
