Jimmy Sham Assaulted Again and Police Tampering with Crime Evidence
Jimmy Sham Tsz-kit, Convener of the pro-democracy Civil Human Rights Front, was attacked in Mong Kok in the evening on 16 October. This was the second time Sham had been attacked since the 29 August assault. Patches of blood stains scattered the ground at the scene. The police cordoned off the area to gather evidence, but as an online footage shows, one police officer stepped directly on the blood stains, which were highly possibly Sham’s. The officer took a brief look at the sole of his shoe after walking over the blood and acted as if nothing had happened. Many viewers of the footage questioned whether the police officer had tampered with the evidence and perverted the course of justice.
Reporters arriving at the scene at 11 p.m. saw no police cordons, no officers and no marking of the two patches of blood stains.
