Hong Kong Deputy Leader: Police Cannot Always Go by the Book and Public Should Not Dwell on 721 Yuen Long Attack
Hong Kong Deputy Leader Matthew Cheung Kin-chung said on a radio programme that the public should no longer dwell on his previous apology regarding the Yuen Long attack on 21 July 2019. He stressed that the Police Force had been committed to discharging their duties over the past months.
On the complaints about the excessive use of force by police officers, Cheung said it is difficult for the police to always go by the book when operations went in the blink of an eye. He also highlighted the existing complaint mechanism for handling such situations.
