DEPUTY COMMISSIONER OF POLICE: PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT SECTORS SHOULD NOT DEFAME POLICE AS “BLACK COPS”
Alan LAU Yip-Shing, the former Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operation), returned to the Police last month. Concerning the phenomenon that police officers were defamed as “black cops”, he believed that it was the world’s biggest conspiracy and lie and that the Police were framed. He also criticized that someone, including some political parties, the media, and the social work sector, were cracking down on the prestige of Hong Kong government by fair means or foul and that those parties publicly supported violence and incited students to participate in demonstrations. He also thought the most outrageous thing is the fact that someone was using freedom of the press as an excuse to distort the truth and incite the hatred of the Police.
