Cops Trespassing on Private Premises and Hurling Abuse
A squad of riot police trespassed on private residential premises, Tin Chung Court, in Tin Shui Wai without notifying the property management office and conducted stop-and-searches. Upon request by the residents, security guards tried to communicate with the police but were ignored.
A woman was shoved by several cops for no reason when she was walking out of Chung Toi House with her son. Her son asked the police for an explanation, but one police officer grabbed him by the throat and, with the help of a few other officers, thrusted him against the wall. The son repeatedly asked for reasons for the search, but the only responses he got were insults hurled by the police officers, who then forced him into a squatting posture. No arrest was made in the end. Both the mother and the son were released.
The riot police left the scene after causing disturbance for around 20 minutes. The security guards confirmed afterwards that no one had called the police. The purpose of the police operation remained unknown.
