“Bring Your Jesus down here to see me!”, insulting a Christian pastor

During the Legco demonstration in the afternoon on 12 June 2019, a pastor trying to convince the police to give warnings before embarking on their operation was ordered by a police officer in a provoking manner “to bring your Jesus down here to see me”.

Former court clerk Alan Tam Chi-fai filed a judicial review application on 18 June 2019 on the grounds that the Police Force Ordinance bars officers from holding a bias against or making blasphemous remarks on someone’s religion when the officer is carrying out his duty.  Tam also said it was “obviously absurd and illogical” to summon Jesus.  Tam demanded the Commissioner of Police (CP) to issue a public apology.
