Three Protesters Arrested on 13 October Beaten by Police, with Two Possibly Framed
Three protesters were charged with possession of offensive weapons in Tsuen Wan on 13 October 2019.
One of them, 19, was charged with possession of 2 petrol bombs, 1 hammer, 4 firelighters and 1 pair of scissors. He complained that the police forced a flask-like object into his tied hands during arrest and that he had been physically assaulted by the police.
Another, 26, also claimed that there were never any petrol bombs in his backpack but he was charged with possession of offensive weapons, including 1 petrol bomb, 1 slingshot, some metal marbles, 1 firelighter and 1 pair of scissors. He was complained about being physically assaulted by the police.
The third defendant, 23, suffered 3 consecutive baton hits, one on the neck and two on the left forearm, and had to be sent to the hospital. He had to wear a neck brace when attending the court hearings.
