20191102 Police: Just by wearing this T-shirt, it’s enough for me to arrest you!

Police created a new law by themselves!

On the night of 2nd November, two teenagers were filming on a pavement in Mong Kok. One of them, who was wearing a printed T-shirt with ‘Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of our times’, was shouted at and ordered to leave by the police. One of the officers even said, ‘Just by wearing this T-shirt, it’s enough for me to arrest you!’ That teenager felt like there wasn’t anything he could do and asked, ‘Really?’ The officer yelled, ‘If you don’t leave now, you will be charged over an unlawful assembly!’ According to Cap. 245 Public Order Ordinance, under section 18, the prerequisite of an unlawful assembly is that when 3 or more persons assemble together. It was suspected that the police abused their power to arrest the civilians.

One of the officers even said he would use pepper spray. The two teenagers then left.
