0331 arson attack at Tai Po police station: Police officer talk with a teenager for an hour before arrest
Tai Po Police Station was attacked with petrol bombs at midnight of 31st March 2020. A part of parking lot and the entrance area were burnt. Three secondary school boys were charged for arson later. They were brought to Tuen Mun Magistrates Courts. Two of them were arrested at the scene, and were charged for assaulting police officers. Another 16-year-old boy was stopped by police in a nearby park eight minutes later. Officers ‘chatted’ with him for over an hour before arresting him. The chat was suspected to be a trap, but not yet confirmed. His fingerprints were not found on the exhibit. Three of them were granted bail. Perverting the course of justice is an offence committed when a person prevents justice from being served on him/herself or on another party.
